About Us

Alison McCuen M.A., CCC-SLP

Alison McCuen founded Eastern Shore Speech Therapy in 2012 to assist families with obtaining quality speech therapy services without having to go to a hospital setting. She has completed internships in hospital, private practice, and preschool settings. Alison has implemented group therapy sessions to improve socialization, language attention, behavior, and sensory skills in children with mild to severe autism. She has evaluated, diagnosed, and treated adults and geriatric patients with various communication, cognitive, and swallowing deficits.

Alison worked in a private practice setting with both children and adults for two years prior to founding Eastern Shore Speech Therapy.  She currently focuses on making sure that every client receives the best speech therapy and that Eastern Shore Speech Therapy maintains its high standard of excellence.

In working with children, Alison centers therapy on developing functional language skills to ease the frustration in communication for both the child and parents. As each child is unique, Alison aims to conduct therapy sessions in a way that will spark the child’s interest and meet individual learning needs. She integrates her enthusiasm and creativity into each therapy session to make sure clients gain as much from each session as possible.
